7 Things to do when at Piha, New Zealand

Piha, West Auckland, New Zealand, home to Lions Rock, an amazing black sand Beach, great surf, walking tracks and Kitekite Falls. Just 50 minutes drive from the CBD. A beautiful natural landscape with a chilled out vibe, the perfect place for a day trip. If your going to visit New Zealand which you should Piha is a must!

No seriously if visiting New Zealand hasn’t crossed your mind go see a doctor, and if you don’t visit Piha while you’re in New Zealand I’m sorry no one can help you… but lucky for you I wrote this post to help you now!

soooooo now you know about Piha because of this post, here are 7 things to do when you are there..

#1 – Walk up “Lions Rock” 🦁

Walk to the top of “Lions Rock”.  Why ? Because it looks like a Lion haha so you cat people will love this and if your astrological sign is Leo you will be spiritually complete when you reach the top 😜  . Check out lions rock below do you think it looks like a lion?

#2 – Chill out on the Beach

Because why not that’s what the Beach is for.
(Me and my bro’s Daniel and Tee below in photo chilling at Piha Beach)

Just us 3 guys just casually practicing yoga😅

 #3 – Surf

Piha Beach has awesome waves so if you’re a surfer you will love it. If you wanted to give surfing a go there is a surf school there so you can learn 🤙🏽

  #4 – Walking Track

There is an awesome walking track which takes you through some native New Zealand bush and also takes you to a waterfall!

#5 – Kitekite Falls

So when you get to Kitekite falls don’t just look at it! go for a swim, why? Because waterfalls are amazing!

#6 – Natural Pool

Ok so when you are on the walking track it will split off many directions there is the track which takes you to Kitekite falls which is awesome but if you super adventurous and want more awesomeness in your life then there is also another track which will take you to the top of the Kitekite Falls and at the top there is a natural pool which is amazing and the water is so calm and still its breath-taking.

This is highly recommended seriously its amazing check out Daniel, Tee and me diving into the natural pool just below.

And this is us swimming around ( PS it was super windy this day)

 #7 – Skimming Rocks

Ok so if you have ever skimmed rocks before you know calm water is needed for the ultimate rock skimming experience. So if you want “THE ULTIMATE ROCK SKIMMING EXPERIENCE” this is the place to do it.

Just before Natural Pool becomes a Natural Pool it is a long super calm stream. No lie you can skim a good rock or stone across the water and get 15+ bounces along the water! amazing right!

Down below is Daniel, me and Tee looking at the beginning of the stream to the left it is about 20-30 meters long and perfect for skimming rocks. look how calm it is 😳

Please share this if you would love to visit Piha
